Ontario’s Transportation Minister says he’s committed to ensuring provincial highways are safe for motorists this winter.
Steven Del Duca faced opposition questions at Queen’s Park Wednesday over recent contracts issued, suggesting they’re still putting lives at risk.
Del Duca says they have implement new measures for this season.
He says they are increasing the use of anti-icing fluid before storms hit as well as providing more equipment.
PC critic Michael Harris isn’t putting much hope into the government plan, noting fines for contractors not following the rules have been rendered useless.
