Its safe to return home for some 500-evacuees of New Osnaburgh First Nation.
Transportation of the fire evacuees will take place Friday from Ignace, Sioux Lookout and Greenstone.
The Ministry of Natural Resources is working with First Nation officials on organizing transportation as well as securing health services for the elderly and children.
MNR Spokesperson Debbie MacLean says an emergency area order will remain in effect until 7 o’clock Friday morning.
Firefighters continue to make excellent progress on the nearby fire.
The decision was recommended by the MNR based on ongoing fire suppression efforts and the weather forecast.
Home Sweet Home!
