Hope for Atikokan Coal-Fired Plant

Encouraging news for atikokan mayor Dennis Brown, 2 days after being
re-elected.
Ontario’s Power Authority is recommending the last of the Province’s
coal-fired plants be shut down by 2014, 7 years past the McGuinty
Government’s original target date.
Industry sources say the recommendation will be made late Wednesday.
The call is sparked by concerns that Ontario won’t have an adequate
supply of power if conservation targets aren’t met or if there are delays in
securing new power from alternative sources.
