Green Party MP and Northern Ontario member Bruce Hyer is trying to put the best face possible on a weekend guffaw by leader Elizabeth May.
May gave a rambling and profanity laced speech at an Ottawa press gallery dinner on the weekend.
In defending her actions, Hyer notes combining a lack of sleep with wine, cold meds and long plane flights, is not a good idea.
However, Hyer says the speech shows May isn’t afraid to tell it like it is.
He calls the remarks unfortunate and is glad she’s apologizing for them.
There have been calls for May to resign.
