Ice Dogs Celebrate With Community

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs celebrated their second straight Bill Salonen Cup with the community Wednesday.

Players and staff embarked on a City wide tour with the trophy.

Captain Trevor Kavanaugh says “keeping Bill home was the goal from the start of the season.”

Kavanaugh says the boys worked hard for the title and they are proud to share the accomplishment with the entire community.

Players and staff visited all of the schools, Princess Court, Community Living, City Hall and area businesses.

Kavanaugh says Wednesday was an amazing experience, noting players signed everything from foreheads and hands, stressing complete strangers have been stopping them in the street to pass along congratulations.

However, Kavanaugh says they have to quickly re-focus and prepare for the Dudley Hewitt Cup.

Dryden hosts the Central Canadian Junior Hockey Championship starting on Tuesday.
