If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.
The entire existing Executive of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs was re-elected with ease Tuesday night at the teams Annual General Meeting.
Mike Sveinson is back as President and he says they have a unique year ahead of them but everyone involved has the energy and passion for making it a special year.
He says he’s optimistic about the upcoming season and notes people can expect to hear from him a lot over the coming months.
Sveinson says he is hoping people are receptive and ready to support the team this year, noting it will a celebration of the franchise and Dryden as a whole.
Dryden GM is hosting the Central Canadian Junior Hockey Championship.
Sveinson says he wants to put on the best show possible for fans and the community.
He stresses the goal is simple, win the league, win the Dudley Hewitt Cup at home and put on a fantastic tournament that proudly represents the City.
Sveinson adds the team is close to operating without debt, noting they should be in the “Black” in 2018-2019.
The organization was able to shave off more than $20,000 off their debt this past season.
