Ice Dogs Fall To North Stars; Miners Earn Key Win

It was a goaltending clinic Friday evening as Brock Aiken and Carson Murison went toe-to-toe for 60 minutes in the SIJHL.

The Thunder Bay North Stars capitalized on some Dryden GM mistakes and penalties en route to a 5-2 win at the Fort William Gardens.

However, Murison and Aiken stole the show with several highlight reel stops.

Scoring for Dryden GM were Eric Stout and Tyler Browning.

Murison finished with 55-saves, while Aiken stopped 38-shots.

In Fort Frances, Red Lake received a balanced attack in a 5-1 victory over the Lakers.

The Miners got goals from Michael Di Lullo, Shaye Sommerfeld, Morgan Venne and Bryce Young, while Keegan Tiringer scored in his first SIJHL game.

All-Star Zach Willms made 35-saves for the win.
