Ice Dogs Record First Win Of Season

For the second straight game the Dryden GM Ice Dogs went to overtime, this time the result was tilted their way.

The Ice Dogs recovered after blowing a 3-0 lead and outlasted the visiting Thunder Bay North Stars 5-4 Saturday night.

Evan Pakkala was the hero, scoring the winner with 1:28 to go in the extra frame.

Cameron Coutre notched a pair of goals in regulation, while Jacob Siebenga and Braden Shea also found the back of the net.

Carson Murison stopped 29 shots for his first SIJHL win.

Dryden GM recorded 34 shots on the Thunder Bay net.

Friday night, the Ice Dogs were on the losing end of a 4-3 overtime decision to Fort Frances.

Dryden GM hasn’t lost back-to-back home games since the 2016 playoffs.

They will have a week to fine tune their game as they hit the ice next a week today at home against Red Lake.

The Miners fell 6-4 to the North Stars yesterday.
