Increased Funding For Long Term Care Homes

The Kenora District Home of the Aged Administrator has mixed feelings about a Ministry of Health funding announcement.
The province dediced to phase in a 15-percent increase in resident fees over three years, instead of all at once.
Long term care homes will also receive an extra 7-dollars a day for each resident.
Kevin Queen says the announcement is a step in the right direction however homes across Ontario had been lobbying for an additional 25-dollars per resident, per day.
The new resident fees for long term care were supposed to go into effect Thursday, but it will now be delayed until September 1st.
