Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford has issued a statement surrounding his new Cabinet role.
The newly minted Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines and Indigenous Affairs says despite the media’s spin, the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs was not folded into another Ministry.
Rickford says the portfolio is filled with highly capable and qualified staff who will continue to serve First Nation communities at the highest level.
He adds Indigenous people across the province will have his utmost dedication as the government strives to strengthen relationships, improve quality of life and expand economic opportunity for Indigenous people.
