The Township of Ignace is out with a new strategic plan.
Economic Development Manager Jason Felix says the plan contains 11 strategies in order to achieve economic growth and development in the community.
Felix says the strategy is so important because they can no longer operating status quo, noting the municipality would continue to decline.
Felix stresses in consultations with the public, one thing became clear, and that Ignace no longer wants to become a one industry small town.
Chief Administrative Officer Marshalina Reader says to sit and do nothing right now is really not an option.
Reader adds the strategic plan focuses on the positives of the community and was carried out with extensive consultations.
Felix and Reader were featured on Northwest Monitor on Sunday.
