Almost 20 volunteers from across Northwestern Ontario did their part Sunday to help get rid of purple loosestrife – known as the beautiful killer – from Gross Island in Rainy Lake.
The Nature Conservancy Office staged the event and Fort Frances Coordinator Neil Stewart believes a great deal of progress was made during the excursion.
