Dryden area residents who fought in World War II will be recognized thanks to a City of Dryden funding contribution.
A $2,500 donation will go towards the Juno Beach 60 campaign where engraved bricks honoring veterans will be placed at the Juno Beach Centre on the Normandy Coast of France.
Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says several people in this area served overseas to preserve our peace and they all deserve to be remembered.
She says it’s a small token of appreciation.
The request was made by the local Royal Canadian Legion Branch.
