KDSB Not Looking At Non-Profit Housing Corporations

The Kenora District Services Board says it’s not planning to take over any more municipal non-profit housing corporations in the near future.

This past week, the DSAB announced it reached a deal with the Keewatin Non-Profit Housing Corporation for its 34 units.

Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall says their mandate is to continue to support housing groups in the district.

Wall says if there is a demand, he would like to see some of the social housing units in the region move from subsidized housing to market rates.
