Key Meeting in Atikokan Saturday

Provincial Energy Minister Dwight Duncan will tour the Atikokan Generating Station tomorrow in what will likely be a last ditch effort to keep the Plant running.
The Government has pledged to close down Ontario’s Coal Stations by 2007, a move Atikokan has fought since it was first announced.
Mayor Dennis Brown says earlier this year Duncan guaranteed him that any move made would not impact the community.
Brown stresses the Plant meets or exceeds all Provincial pollution standards.
