The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board hopes to work more closely with other school boards to enhance student programming in the new school year.
Sean Monteith says he plans to initiate the conversation and specifically has the Northwest Catholic District School Board in mind.
He also hopes to strengthen current partnerships with outside agencies by talking about day cares, child and family services and ministry of child and youth services providers.
Monteith adds another priority is improving student achievement which not only focuses on graduation, but general attendance as well.
