A pair of Federal grants totaling more than $400,000 will
help Lakehead University researchers investigate ways to
preserve the Ojibwa language and improve education for
teens in isolated aboriginal communities in Northern
Ontario.
Chair of Aboriginal Education Ethel Gardner received
$225,000 to work with Grand Council Treaty 3 educators and
language technicians.
Gardner says its critical to teach Northwestern Ontario
First Nation Youth about their heritage.
