Lakehead University researchers will be utilizing a pair
of Federal Government grants to investigate ways to
preserve the Ojibwa language.
Researchers will have at their disposal over $400,000
dollars.
Ethel Garnder is the Chair of Aboriginal Education at
Lakehead University.
Gardner says she’ll be using her share of the funds to
work with Grand Council Treaty 3 educators and language
technicians.

The second research project will examine ways to improve
the aboriginal school curriculum and improve education for
teens in isolated aboriginal communities in Northern
Ontario.
