Laser Pointers Banned At Airports

You could face huge fines for shining a laser pointer at an aircraft.

Hand held battery powered lasers are now prohibited within 10 kilometres of any airport or heliport in Canada.

Anyone possessing one within that area without a good reason can face fines of up to $2,500.

The new fines, which took effect this month, stemmed from a rise in what officials describe as laser attacks on aircraft. (File Photo)
