Embattled Senator Lynn Beyak is still under attack for her comments on the Residential School system.
Chair of the Liberal Indigenous Caucus Don Rusnak has sent a letter to the Senator saying she can’t speak on behalf of First Nations people while refusing to meet with his Caucus members.
He’s asking Beyak to meet with them to talk about what he calls “her inexplicable resistance to acknowledging the realities of what went on at the schools”.
The letter says Beyak’s continued remarks about the schools are counterproductive and offensive.
The Caucus is asking her to resign and leave a Senate committee on Aboriginal Peoples.
