Two candidates for the position of Ontario Premier have the North in mind.
Glen Murray says it’s time for Northern Ontario to have it’s own regional government.
He says northerner’s should have more control over energy, infrastructure and natural resources and proposes them to be able to choose by a referendum the kind of regional authority they want.
Kathleen Wynne is also committed to infrastructure, youth employment and aboriginal education commitments.
She adds that if she’s elected, she will create a new cabinet committee and have a meeting within 30 days of being elected.
