Liberals Working To Address Water Issues On First Nations

The Wynne Liberals admit more needs to be done to resolve mercury contamination issues at Grassy Narrows First Nation.

However, Environment and Climate Change Minister Chris Ballard is dismissing opposition calls that the government is ignoring pollution problems in Indigenous communities.

Ballard says they continue to make significant investments.

He notes they have committed $85-million to remediate any potential mercury contamination in the English-Wabigoon River system.

He adds they are working with First Nations and the Federal government to end all boil water advisories in the north in the next five years.
