Light at the end of the Tunnel for New Dryden Scho

It took longer then expected, but the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is almost ready to move ahead with construction of a new Elementary School in Dryden.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says they expect to get final Provincial approval shortly after finding $830,000 in savings.
Carrie says the Board was able to find the money by starting the project in the Spring and by reducing the size of the school to 46,000 square feet.
He stresses student learning and achievement won’t be impacted.
The total cost of the project is $16-million.
The remaining cash will come from working reserves and Board approved funding.
The Public Board has awarded the contract to Thunder Bay Based Finnway General Contractors.
Construction should start in April.
