Local ETFO President Not Happy With Repeal

The local president of the Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario is voicing her thoughts on the repealing of Bill 115, which is effective tomorrow.
Anne Saltel feels that the government knew all along that it was a flawed piece of legislation, and now that they’ve got what they want out of it, they will repeal it.
Saltel says this is like an “abusive relationship”.
She says hopefully things will turn around by March, when there’s a new Ontario premier and leader of the Liberal party.
In regards to extra-curricular activities in public elementary schools, Saltel says that the union is urging its teachers to not participate in the voluntary activities, but it’s completely up to the individual teacher.
