Local Green Candidate Believes Party Is Making Inroads

The Green candidate in Kenora-Rainy River believes her party is making headway in becoming a meaningful party in Ontario.

The party made history last Thursday, with leader Mike Schreiner gaining a seat at Queen’s Park for the first time in three tries.

Ember McKillop says the goal all along is getting their name out there.

McKillop says there’s been a lot of barriers to do that, but says the election win will help the party push their agenda forward.

McKillop says they received a high percentage of the popular vote last week, noting they are starting to gain more and more momentum.

As for a majority Conservative government, McKillop is congratulating Greg Rickford for his win and is urging the Ford government to avoid cuts to public services.
