Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell says she plans to introduce legislation later this year to eliminate private energy contracts.
Her first attempt was dashed on the order paper when the spring election was called.
Campbell says it doesn’t make sense that companies can buy power from the same source as public companies and sell it cheaper.
The move comes on word that retailers are once again going door to door in the region trying to sell private energy contracts.
Campbell says it’s always a case of buyer beware and notes “if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”
