The annual meeting of municipal and business leaders is taking place in Thunder Bay over the next couple of days.
The Northwestern Regional Conference features a wide array of speakers.
President of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association Dave Canfield says a number of pressing issues will be up for discussion.
Canfield says they will be getting updates on social housing, climate change strategies, food security, homelessness and a presentation from the Northern Policy Institute.
He notes they will also be hearing from Con College, and Lakehead University.
Canfield says they want to make sure everyone is on the same page when addressing concerns to both levels of government.
