The Public School Board has decided to take control of the Ontario
Youth Apprenticeship program, a Skilled Trades Awareness program operated by
the Cresive Corporation.
General Manager Dan McNeill says the loss of the program coupled with
the elimination of adult education is tough to take but necessary.
McNeill says they have been running the program on a break-even to deficit basis.
Part of Cresive’s mandate is to generate revenue to be passed back to
the School Board to enhance student learning.
The elimination of the 2-programs will result in the loss of 5 jobs
at Cresive.
