Lakehead University is celebrating two major milestones in 2015.
The new year brings with it the first graduating class from the Northern Ontario Law School.
President Dr. Brian Stevenson says it’s a huge accomplishment, for both the school and students.
“Want to be able, next year, to develop a third and final group of students in law, because it’s a three-year program,” he says, “so this would be the completion of the law school program, and hire all the rest of the faculty that we need.”
Stevenson says 2015 also marks the University’s 50th anniversary.
“[We’ve gone] from a small undergraduate university to an already fully comprehensive university,” says Stevenson.
“We’re going to have celebrations starting the middle of January throughout the year, including our very first homecoming for alumni.”
Stevenson says they’ve created a special 50th anniversary website to keep people up to date on the events they have planned.
