Making Public Facilities More Accessible

A number of public facilities in Atikokan are about to become more accessible thanks to new federal and provincial funding.
The two levels of government have put forth more than 300-thousand dollars to install elevators and wheel-chair ramps at various community buildings.
Atikokan Mayor Dennis Brown says improvements will be made at the library, arena, museum and Little Falls Recreation Centre.
He hopes the barrier-free changes will be complete in the next couple of years.
