The City of Dryden remains determined to lobby the Provincial Government to locate a main medical school campus in Thunder Bay.
Recently, the City of Timmins pulled its support away from Lakehead University to concentrate on a main medical school campus already announced for Sudbury.
Dryden Mayor Sid Wintle says the decision has drawn a lot of criticism from a majority of Northern municipalities.
Last year, the province announced the creation of a Northern Medical School with the main campus to be located in Sudbury and a satellite site in Thunder Bay.
Wintle says a main campus in Sudbury is just as good as one in Toronto as students will still leave the region.
