The English River Miners couldn’t overcome a quick turnaround in a 7-4 loss to the Fort Frances Lakers Friday night in Game 1 of the Best of 7 SIJHL Semi-Final.
The Miners were coming off a gruelling winning series with Minnesota which ended Wednesday night while the Lakers have been off for almost two weeks.
Konnar Dechaine led the way for the Miners with a pair of goals, while Trevor Pereverzoff and Ryker Moreau added singles.
Korlan Vader suffered his first loss of the playoffs.
The Miners will host their awards banquet Saturday night before heading back to Fort Frances Sunday night.
