It’s early but the mining industry has a future in Dryden.
Patience was stressed at a Mining Conference in Eagle Lake and Dryden Wednesday.
Geoff Newton of Laurentian Goldfields says most companies are just getting started.
Rory Krocker of Treasury Metals says Dryden has pretty much everything mining companies need to prosper.
Laurentian has 3-projects on the go.
One project is about 50-kilometres southeast of the community.
The company says it has spent $1.5-million on the gold project this year, with more investment planned in the future.
Treasury Metals says it has 2-major projects its working on.
One project is the Goliath project.
229-holes have already been drilled and the company is getting close to advanced exploration.
Manitou Gold noted that they have roughly 9-projects on the go right now.
A total of 30,000 metres have already been drilled by the company.
All three companies indicated that they are always looking for local, qualified personnel and contractors.
Service gaps identified include a lack of lodging and equipment repair companies.
