Do you know someone who is missing?
The Provincial Police are teaming up with Treaty 3 Police and the Ojibways of Wauzhushk Onigum to share information during Missing Person Awareness Day on Thursday.
A day-long public event is being held at the Wauzhushk Onigum Roundhouse in Rat Portage First Nation starting at 10:00am.
Those attending will gain insight into the importance of reporting a person missing and will have the chance to provide information on unreported missing persons.
There will also be an opportunity to collect DNA samples from family members for identification purposes in the event of a missing person report.
The event is open to the public and will include a presentation from the Kenora Sexual Assault Centre about human trafficking.
Organizers want to remind the public that you don’t have to be a relative to report someone missing and their is no time limit to report a missing person.
