MNO Court Case #2

An Ontario Court of Justice ruling is expected Tuesday,

on a dispute between the Metis Nation of Ontario and the

Province.

MNO Chair Gary Lapinski says they took the Provincial

Government to court, because 12 charges were laid against

Harvest card holding Metis’.

Lapinski says they’re feeling fairly confident.

Lapinski says the government broke their promis to allow

Metis’ to hunt and fish without being subject to

Conservation laws.

The metis’ who were charged were hunting around the

Sudbury area.
