The $1.1 million Provincial Government cheque for Special Education was desperately needed according to the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
Trustee Ed Arnold says without it, the Board would have been running a deficit and they would have had to cut other programs.
The funding formula will be changed after this year so its unclear how much money the Board will see in the future.
