Montague Update #3

A male dominated jury has been selected at the criminal

trial of former Dryden gunsmith Bruce Montague.

The jury is made up of 10 men and 2 women hailing mostly

from Dryden and Kenora.

Several possible jurors were excused because of their

strong feelings for or against firearms legislation.

The jury does includes an avid hunter, although the man

says he can be impartial.

Several possible jurors were turned down because of

their relation, or acquaintance with the defendents,

witnesses, and police officers in the case.

Bruce Montague has plead not guilty to 53 charges under

the Federal Firearms Act.

Donna Montague, Bruce’s Montague’s wife faces three

charges including possession of a firearm without a

licence and unlawfully storing a firearm.

The court case is expected to take up to two weeks.
