A male dominated jury has been selected at the criminal
trial of former Dryden gunsmith Bruce Montague.
The jury is made up of 10 men and 2 women hailing mostly
from Dryden and Kenora.
Several possible jurors were excused because of their
strong feelings for or against firearms legislation.
The jury does includes an avid hunter, although the man
says he can be impartial.
Several possible jurors were turned down because of
their relation, or acquaintance with the defendents,
witnesses, and police officers in the case.
Bruce Montague has plead not guilty to 53 charges under
the Federal Firearms Act.
Donna Montague, Bruce’s Montague’s wife faces three
charges including possession of a firearm without a
licence and unlawfully storing a firearm.
The court case is expected to take up to two weeks.
