More Money Being Spent By Kenora Catholic School Board

A spending increase next year for the Kenora Catholic District School Board, which oversees St. John’s in Red Lake.

Superintendent of Business Services Alison Smith says overall their budget will come in at just over $29-million.

Smith says that’s about $1-million higher than 2017-2018.

The increase is due to a province-wide wage hike for instructors and there is more money allocated for new programming and special education support services.

The board is projecting a deficit of about $111,000, which is within provincial guidelines.
