Ottawa is putting aside 400-thousand dollars for a campaign to help prevent diabetes among aboriginals.
The campaign will use posters, fact sheets, radio broadcasts, and a web site promoting regular exercise and good nutrition.
Funding will come from a five-year, 58-million dollar federal grant allocated to the aboriginal diabetes initiative in 1999.
Diabetes is one of the leading causes of illness and disability among natives, especially in Northwestern Ontario.
The Healing Trail has been leading a similar campaign in the Dryden area.
