The head of the Ontario Campaign for Action on Tobacco says studies have shown no negative economic impacts for communities with smoke-free bylaws.
Michael Perley was in Dryden yesterday to speak about the benefits of such a bylaw.
Perley says there has been a lot of support from business owners.
However, he says owners want the same rules for all businesses to allow for a level playing field.
Perley also believes the provincial government should play more of a leading role in formulating such bylaws.
