The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association will be highlighting regional issues and concerns this week in Ottawa.
President Wendy Landry has set-up a meeting with Premier Doug Ford at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference.
Landry says this is their first meeting and the goal is to establish a strong relationship with the new government.
One item on the agenda is the planned closure of the Thunder Bay Generating Station and the need to keep it open.
