NAN Looking to Kill Far North Act

The Nishnawbe-Aski Nation is looking to kill the Ontario Government’s Far North Act.
Grand Chief Stan Beardy says they are launching a campaign, saying the legislation doesn’t give First Nations a say in how their land will be developed.
The campaign will include letters and editorials, draft petitions and a rally at the Ontario Legislature to convince the Government to scrap the bill.
The Legislation that would lock up to 42% of Ontario’s
land mass from development is scheduled for a third and final
reading on September 16th.
