The cries for relief on soaring hydro bills have echoed into Toronto.
In the Ontario Legislature on Tuesday, NDP Leader Andrea Horwath used her time during Question Period to bring up Monday’s protest in Dryden.
Horwath says Northerners are forced to decide between paying their hydro bill or putting food on the table.
She says the Premier continues to ignore people in communities like Dryden, but stresses its clear residents will keep telling him that they are opposed to his energy policy.
Horwath says his policy cripples average citizens and creates an expensive bonus structure for CEO’s and drives manufacturing plants to neighbouring Provinces
She’s also calling on the McGuinty Liberals to remove the Harmonized Sales Tax from energy bills.
