Bruno’s Contracting in Thunder Bay has been awarded a $9.5-million contract to replace an aging bridge over the Chukuni River.
The 17-span timber trestle on Highway 105 near Ear Falls, is being replaced with a new 84-metre steel girder bridge.
The Provincial Government says it will be built in 2-halves to allow single lane traffic until the project is completed in the Fall of 2010.
The project is creating some 70-jobs.
Officials say the new Chukuni River Bridge will become the longest single span girder bridge in Ontario.
