New Dryden Council Ready To Move Forward

It’s time to get down to business for the new regime of the City of Dryden.

The recently elected Council was officially sworn-in at a ceremony at the Centre Monday night.

Mayor Greg Wilson says they are focused on re-branding Dryden as a more attractive and vibrant community.

Wilson says that includes possible waterfront development at the end of Van Horne, a potential Market Square downtown, and a pledge by Councillor Michelle Price to revitalize the downtown core.

He notes the primary goal is to continue down the path of eliminating their deficit and make significant headway regarding fixing area streets, sidewalks and other infrastructure.

Wilson says another priority is developing a new master plan for the community.

He stresses Council is confident that they have the right team in place to succeed, noting new managers are in place to bring fresh ideas, new experiences and special skill-sets to the City.

Norm Bush and Martin MacKinnon weren’t in attendance for the ceremony but have already been confirmed in their Council positions.
