New Gold Mine Still On Schedule

New Gold is close to having its gold mine north of Barwick up and running.

All of the key structural components are in place and testing is underway at its process facilities.

The company’s outgoing Interim Chief Operating Officer, Raymond Threlkeld notes there is still plenty of testing yet to do.

Threlkeld expects to see ore going through the mill with the first pour of gold occurring in September.

New Gold is now awaiting for approval to establish a small tailings site near two small creeks.

President Hannes Portmann says public comment on that proposal and government feedback has been favourable and expects to receive the go-ahead to proceed in the fourth quarter of this year.

Portmann notes some mining activity is also taking place.
