Winnipegers are ringing in the new year with new rules for smokers in the city.
Starting today, smoking is banned in all Winnipeg restaurants where those under age 18 are served.
However, you can still light up in bars.
Despite the tougher rules, anti-smoking crusaders think the law does not go far enough and are pushing for a city-wide ban on smoking.
Meantime in Northwestern Ontario, anti-smoking groups in Dryden and Atikokan are pushing their respective councils to introduce bylaws to curb smoking in public places.
