Stroke victims in the region will now get added attention.
Dr. Ayman Hassan says the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has set up a 12 bed Regional Stroke Unit.
Hassan says the facility includes a stroke team that’s trained to care for recovering patients.
It comes after recommendations from Health Quality Ontario, which monitors health care objectives for the province.
The project is two years in the making.
