A new high tech cruiser is hitting the road in northwestern Ontario looking for expired or suspended licence’s.
Provincial Police in Kenora, Thunder Bay, and Nipigon are using new automatic license plate recognition equipment.
The technology takes down plate numbers and searches through a database to see if they’re still valid.
Traffic Sergeant David Bel says the vehicles will be on the road 24/7.
There is one camera on the front of the cruiser and one on the back.
