No Active Fires Burning In Northwest

The forest fire hazard is low across much of the Kenora district, with some moderate to high pockets in the northwest sectors of the region.

There are no active fires burning in the area.

One fire in Pikangikum First Nation yesterday was quickly put out by Ministry of Natural Resources crews.

The largest forest fire of the young season, a 260 hectare blaze north of Kenora near Caribou Falls has now been extinguished.

That fire broke out on April 15th.
